The Hill’s Mark Schmitt has written about the site design process for the new White House website and how that process has been taking shape.

The White House Office of Information Technology, for example, is working with the National Association of Broadcasters on the design of the logo, while the National Archives of Canada is in the process of developing the new seal for the White House.
But the process, Schmitt said, has been evolving in response to a number of factors.
The redesign, he said, was first conceived in May 2016, but has taken years to come to fruition.
In that process, the White, House, and Archives sites were redesigned by teams of designers, a process that included a collaborative effort between the White Houses and the National Park Service, as well as outside firms.
Schmitt, who served as White House chief of staff during President Donald Trump’s presidency, noted that the process involved a lot of collaboration and effort, and that the White houses had a lot to do with the process.
The White House and the Archives sites have become the most prominent locations in the country where the public has a chance to see the president’s official records, including the papers of former presidents and their spouses.
Schiffitt noted that as the new president took office, the public was more interested in having access to the documents they needed to understand the legacy of their past presidents.
But in the years since Trump’s inauguration, Schiffitt said, “the public has become more and more interested that there was a record of who was in the White house, how they governed the country, and where they worked.

The records cover every branch of government, including national parks, governorships, state governments, and the United Nations.
The National Archives, the nation’s archives agency, has published the first volume of its archival collections, called The Record of American History.
It contains nearly 1.5 million records, which include correspondence, bills, bills of lading, and military and diplomatic correspondence, among other items.
In a statement on Friday, the Archives said it was “in the process” of creating a record that includes “every single executive branch executive office, every single congressional district, every U.S. president, every state legislator, every federal judge and magistrate, every governor, every district attorney, every judge and jury and every appellate judge.”
“The National Park service, the Library of Congress, the United Negro College Fund, and many other institutions have put a lot more time and effort into the archival work of the archives, and it will be a tremendous resource to the public,” Schiffitz said.
But it will not be complete until the archives complete their final work in 2021, when they plan to open the new, updated White House in 2021.
“For us, that’s the biggest challenge, is to complete the archiving,” Schiffsaid.
“So what we’re doing now is we’re trying to bring that record to life.
“It’s going to go through a very rigorous process, and we’ll have a record, a beautiful record, that we can give people, that they can go and look at and make their own decision as to whether or not to make a contribution to.””

The site design team is comprised of a design team from the National Press Photographers Association, which oversees the Whitehouse, National Archives and the Library.
He said the WhiteHouse team, which includes architects and designers, is focused on the redesign of the website and other features.
Schifthshow also noted that in addition to the website design, several of the other design elements will be incorporated into the redesign.
The new website will include the National Mall, the Capitol Building, the Oval Office, the Presidential Office Building, and a new visitors center that will allow visitors to visit the National Museum of the American Indian, as a way to learn about the historic preservation of Native American history and culture.
The redesign of that visitors center will allow it to be a gateway to the new site, he added.
